Virginia Teams at Cornell: Women Win and Men Take 2nd!

For the fourth year in a row the Virginia women’s polo team won the women’s division of the William S. Field Invitational tournament at Cornell in Ithaca, New York. While the team has changed through the four year span, this marks the second consecutive win for third year Mackenzie Craig and a first for team members fourth year Caroline Blang and Kelsey Bray. Two time National Champion Team Captain Alana Benz has been on the winning Virginia women’s team all four years, an impressive streak!

An early victory for the Virginia men’s polo team took them to the finals to play in a hard fought match against University of North Texas. The tight game ultimately ended in a win for UNT and our men’s team took home a 2nd place trophy.

Thank you goes to Cornell for hosting this tournament and giving our teams the opportunity to size up the competition we’ll face at Nationals this coming March in Texas.

Congratulations UVA teams!!
