Virginia Women win and Men take a near second at the Field Tournament at Cornell

This year the annual Field Tournament at Cornell featured women’s teams from University of Kentucky, University of Virginia, USC Aiken, Cornell, and Southern Methodist University. Competition in the men’s division featured Cornell, University of Kentucky, University of Virginia, and University of North Texas.

Virginia Polo had two strings of ponies hauled to the Oxley center, one selected by the men and one selected by the women.

The men began the tournament strong defeating UK in their first game on Thursday evening. Despite excellent teamwork, the men lost a hard fought match against the formidable UNT men’s team, leaving the weekend with trophies for second place.

The UVA women’s team sealed the tournament win Sunday against the Cornell ladies in a 23-10 win. You go girls!
